What is Nike SB?

Literally standing for “skateboarding”, the Nike SB became Nike’s first-ever line of skate shoes back in 2002. Competing with established skater brands, such as Vans, this iconic silo was kicked off by the Nike SB Dunk Low and immediately raised the bar for its competitors. From there, the SB has never looked back.

Nike have continued to tweak and upgrade these trainers over the past two decades, introducing a variety of new silhouettes and colourways. Collaborations with legendary skateboarders like Stefan Janoski and Paul Rodriguez pushed this silo to the next level, offering incredible style, support and comfort while on the board.

Although initially released as a skate shoe, the Nike SB isn’t just limited to professional or amateur skateboarders, and has gradually become one of the most popular casual trainers on the planet. Chosen for their style just as much as their performance, the popularity of these trainers has continued to grow over time.

The selection of Nike SB trainers is also rapidly growing, with Nike continuously serving up new silhouettes and collaborations. Following the release of the first SB Dunk, Nike introduced the SB Angus, Delta Force, FC and URL, with their first collaboration with Paul Rodriguez and the iconic SB Blazer coming shortly after.

From there, this silo has introduced collaborations with the likes of Eric Koston and Stefan Janoski, with the latter remaining one of the most famous trainer sub-collections on the planet. The more recent models include the stunning Solarsoft, Nyjah and Air Max Bruin Vapor, with each one offering different features, colours and fits.

Whether you’re looking for a retro Dunk or stylish Solarsoft, you can find a huge range of cheap SB trainers at FOOTY.COM. We compare prices on sizes for men, women and kids, finding great deals from your favourite retailers and listing them all in one convenient place. Basically, bargain-hunting can be a bit of a nightmare, so we do all the hard work for you.

Are Nike SB Good For Running?

Not really, no. Nike SB trainers aren’t a great option for running, or even long walks. The soles of these trainers are incredibly flat, while the canvas and suede uppers make them fairly rigid and immobile. These are trainers built for skateboarding, although there’s certainly nothing wrong with wearing them on a casual basis.
